Mitchell Peiffer

Howdy, my name is Mitchell Peiffer and I am currently pursuing my Master of Science in Management Information System at Mays Business School at Texas A&M. Before jumping into this degree I worked at Chick-fil-A for over 5 years, eventually working my way up to becoming an Executive Director and overseeing the entire restaurant. This included anything from scheduling, inventory, hospitality or kitchen operations. I learned many things there but most importantly I learned how to work with a team and solve problems.

I spent my undergraduate years working towards operating my own Chick-fil-A location one day but learned soon after I graduated that this career path was not for me. I did, however, learn very important lessons while there. I love coaching up new leaders to their full potential and helping them lead in both day-to-day activities and big picture issues. I also learned that I enjoy solving problems that affect the trajectory of a company. I took on several projects while at Chick-fil-A that changed entire processes of how we did things that we intended to improve guest perception.

As I begin to plan my career once graduated, I gravitate towards roles that allow me to pursue both leading others and designing new systems for companies. I was able to work at the intersection of those two interests in my previous career and hope to stay in that range going forward. I will bring a unique combination of leadership and knowledge to an organization, allowing me to design systems that not only work, but that people actually want to use.

I am particularly drawn to roles like a systems analyst, data scientist or a product manager; roles where I can serve as the connection between the people who use the system and the team who builds it. I am not only interested in the business sector either, I have explored other industries such as healthcare where there is a need for both leadership and system design and maintenance.

I find myself constantly wanting to discuss leadership strategies with others, often unrelated to my previous job. I like hearing from leaders of other companies and reading leadership books from respected leaders around the world. On the other hand, I constantly think about how I could change a system in my life or a company I interact with daily. Improving current systems brings fulfillment in my everyday life.

All in all, I take great pride in my teamwork and my ability to optimize how we as humans go about our lives. I am eager to join a team where I can help others, solve meaningful problems and help drive strategic change through people and systems. Thank you.
